What is Build An Ant Empire?
A Roblox colony tycoon by Insect Kingdom Studio. You roll ants from the Ant Queen, place them in colony slots, collect food boxes, sell them for Cash and reinvest that Cash into eggs, upgrades, Mutations, Jelly, Pets and Mounts to grow a massive colony.
Is Build An Ant Empire free to play?
Yes, it is free on Roblox with a single cross-platform account. Progress is tied to your Roblox account.
How do I get my first ant?
Interact with the Ant Queen. Her default roll produces a Common egg; buy the ant it hatches and place it in your first colony slot. Full steps are in the beginner guide.
Codes & Currency
How do codes work?
Codes grant a percentage-based Cash boost that lasts 15 minutes and activates the moment you redeem them. Open Settings from the gear icon and paste the code into the code box. See the codes page for the live list.
What's the difference between Food and Cash?
Food is what your ants produce as boxes at the collection station; Cash is what you get by selling that food. Cash buys everything: eggs, ants, upgrades and items. The loop is explained in the money guide.
Ants & Progression
How do you get better ants?
Buy egg luck and egg roll upgrades, then roll eggs at the Ant Queen and buy the hatched ants. Higher rarity means stronger food production. See eggs & luck.
What does Jelly do?
Speed Jellies boost ant movement speed for a set duration, from Normal (1.3x / 5 min) up to Prismatic (2.5x / 15 min). Faster ants produce more food per session. See jelly.
What are Mutations?
One-time ant buffs applied with Potions from the Item Shop. Each raises an ant's EFF multiplier — from Leaf (1.35x) up to Starlight (5x). See mutations.
How do Pets work?
Pets are companions that grant passive boosts to your colony, stacking with rarities, Mutations and Jelly. Full details are on the pets guide.
What is the best upgrade to buy first?
Egg luck and egg rolls — they are cheap and directly improve your ant quality. After that, food value and colony expansion. See best upgrades.
